D-I-Y facial for oily skin

If your T-zone made up of your forehead, cheeks and nose release oil causing your face to shine, then you’ve got oily skin. People with oily skin can run their palms over their face and actually feel oil rub off on their palms. If you’ve got this condition, then here’s a D-I-Y facial that will help you.

Step 1: Cleanse

You can use a foaming wash to cleanse your face and neck. Flori Roberts Fresh Foaming cleanser is ideal. If you prefer a natural remedy, then cleanse your face with tomato by applying a tomato slice on your face in
an upward, circular motion. Rinse off with warm water.

Step 2: Exfoliate

Adrien Arpel Vegetable Peel is ideal as it serves as both scrub and mask. Apply on the face, leave to dry and slough in circular motion until paste is removed. Wash with warm water. You could also use Flori Robert
facial scrub and primer. Oats also come handy as facial scrubs.

Step 3: Steam

After heating some water, pour in a bowl, add some mint herbs or herbs you like and cover head with towel. You could also had lemon peel into water. Steam for 10 minutes.

Step 4: Mask

While you have a variety of brands to buy from stores, you could create your own mask which is fresh, all natural and works effectively. Oats are great for oily skin so mix some oats with a teaspoon of milk and lemon
juice; mix into a paste with lukewarm water and apply all over face and neck as mask. Leave for 10 minutes and rinse off with warm water. In place of milk, you could use yoghurt.

Step 5: Tone

Your toner comes handy at this stage. I recommend Flori Robert Double O complex as it is great for oily skin.

Step 6: Treatment

By mixing cucumber juice, lemon juice and rose water and applying on face with cotton wool, the oil on the face is controlled.

Step 7: Moisturize

Moisturize with Flori Robert oil-free moisturizers or any oil-free moisturizers.

Daily defence against oil

Controlling oil is challenging for people with oily skin so as part of your beauty regime, you could cleanse with tomato or make your own cleanser combination of rose water, lemon juice and cucumber juice.

  1. […] If you have oily skin, then you are most likely to be susceptible to breakouts and while a host of treatment exist, I realized that natural remedies do come very handy in treating blackheads and pimples. The benefits are great; chief among them is that since the treatment is natural, it nourishes your skin and secondly, they are cheap as they already are in your kitchen cabinet or refrigerator.
