Our Products Journey

Transparency and trust are important to us at Ene Naturals. Which is why we will be taking you behind the scene on how our products go from ethical sourcing to good manufacturing processes and good old African inspired artisanship and craftsmanship in making products with herbs and botanicals. Our products are carefully crafted with love. At Ene Naturals, we are passionate about African beauty and are happy to share it with the world.

As a brand, we are passionate about fusing indigenous African herbs with Ayurvedic botanicals and other botanicals from around the world in a sustainable manner that allows us to utilise every element of the herbs without wasting a single bit of it.

The journey of our botanicals begin from sourcing ingredients from organic certified suppliers and women cooperatives (in Africa), where the funds goes directly to the women. When we receive the herbs, they pass through a process and cycle of maceration (infusions), extraction from oils, drying to drain out residue of oils and then milling into powders to be used in our bath soaps. To us, every bit of the ingredient is utilised in nature’s abundance.

Take a snapshot of the botanicals that we work with and tell us your favourites in the comment box! Are there any which are new to you? We would love to hear from you!

Our Maceration Process

All our body oils, hair oils, and other hair products, like our defrizz detangle hair spray and leave-in- conditioner, and lotions are made with herbal infusions. And in order to do this, we macerate all our herbs and botanicals in oil for 30 days before they are used in formulations.

Within the 30 days period, the botanicals remain in the oils in jars where they receive sunlight to allow the oils to absorb all of the nutrients in the botanicals.

After 30 days, the botanicals are extracted out of the oils and while the oils are used in formulations, the herbs are dried and eventually milled to be used in making our African black soap products.

Our products like Anti Frizz Detangle hair spray and Organic Baby Lotion are made entirely from organic and vegan certified ingredients and we start by infusing botanicals like lavender, rosemary, and calendulas through steaming before adding to our formulation.
