How to use essential oils

Essential oils are plant concentrates that are anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-septic, anti-bacteria and mood uplifting. They are very beneficial to our skin and our health in general. The commonest uses of essential oils are:⁣

  1. For aromatherapy: essential oils have tremendous effects on our moods and help to elevate moods and to combat anxiety, stress and depression. To benefit, add a few drops to oil burners, diffusers and even hot water to inhale its aroma.⁣
  2. For massages: By combining essential oils with carrier oils for different massages, they help relief stress, pain and aches.⁣
  3. For foot soak: Stressed out from the hustle and bustle of life, then soak your feet in warm water and add a few drops of essential oils and Dead Sea salt. ⁣
  4. For herbal teas: Not all essential oils are edible but some like peppermint oil is. Peppermint oil relives aches, pain, stress, cold and flu symptoms so add a drop or 2 to hot or warm water and sip. By inhaling the aroma while drinking, you benefit both ways as it opens one’s nasal passage.⁣
  5. For face steaming: Remove dead cells by steaming your face over hot water by adding a few drops of lavender oil, orange oil or any essential oil of your choice and steaming for 15-20 minutes.

Anti-wrinkle skincare with snail secretion filtrate

We recently launched our new line of products – anti-wrinkle products made with snail secretion filtrate. My mother was the inspiration behind these products because for nearly three decades, I watched her spend so much money on anti-aging products made by international brands that I promised her years ago that I would create a totally organic line that would nourish her skin as well as fight wrinkles but at a fraction of the price that she spent. I guess she thought I was joking. But hey, that promise is now a reality and my mum was so excited and pleased with the results when she began using the products.

We made our anti-wrinkle products with snail secretion filtrate because of the many benefits it possesses. Snail secretion is nature’s gem. Full of minerals and nutrients to nourish the body, it rejuvenates our skin cells, healing our skin of scars, acne and blemishes; and most importantly, it moisturizes our skin to give us supple, soft skin that is free of wrinkles. This is nothing but sheer luxury.

Snail secretion contains the following nutrients:

Collagen, allantoin, elastin, glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid, minerals (copper, potassium, iron, zinc), coenzymes, antioxidants, vitamins A,C,E, immunomodulators, which help to normalize the immune system and natural antibiotics.

If you haven’t tried any of these products, pls do so. Visit our online Store to place an order.

Cheers!

Allergy and cold relief the natural way

The rains are upon us so sneezing, stuffy nose, catarrh & cough are expected. To nip cold and flu symptoms in the bud before they become worse and unbearable, use any of our trio decongestants and air purifiers to prevent the symptoms from spreading.

  1. Anti-viral disinfectant spray contains eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil and a host of anti-viral essential oils to combat cold and its symptoms. It also purifies the air. To use, spray around the room to purify and disinfect the air, spray into pillows and beddings to decongest your nose for a sound slip or spray into handkerchief to inhale on the go.
  2. Eucalyptus and peppermint oil also serve the same purpose and can be applied on handkerchiefs to inhale or to drop into hot water and use for inhalation as you steam. Allergies are expected during this cold, rainy season so protect yourself and your loved ones. To order, please send us a DM.

Why you should only use cold-pressed oils

Cold-pressed oils are oils that have been extracted at cool temperature in a screw-pressed process which protects the oil from rancidity, trans-fat or toxic chemicals. This process of extraction helps the oils to retain its nutrients, antioxidants, aroma, texture and all its natural qualities. This is why cold-pressed oils are the best for the skin because they provide the skin with the best nourishment. We advise against heat-pressed oil because of the external heat that is applied in the process of extraction. Because the oil loses vital natural qualities, you find that heat-pressed oils go rancid faster than cold-pressed oils. Compare cold-pressed coconut oil with heat-pressed coconut oil – they not only differ in colour but in aroma and quality as well. So to take better care of your skin, use only cold-pressed oils.

The importance of water to aid oil absorption

Water is essential for the body to absorb oils into our skin because water locks in moisture and traps the oil thereby making it impossible for the oil to escape from the skin. And this act alone translates to better hydration and moisturizing of the skin. This is why we advise that you do the following to get the best out of your oils:

1. Apply oils on damp skin and allow your skin to dry naturally without toweling dry.

2. Add a few drops of oil to your bath water at the rinsing stage and allow your skin to dry naturally.

3. If your skin is already dry, add a little water to your palm and add a few drops of oil and apply on your skin.

4. Make an oil and water mist spray and spray on your skin when needed and allow to dry naturally.

5. Add oil to water-based lotions and apply to the skin.

VITAL INFO: Oils are vital for cell regeneration, healing, collagen production and skin health which is why oils are fantastic anti-aging agents and responsible for your skin’s suppleness. Oils are not bad unless they are heat-presses which means what you are putting on your skin is cholesterol-filled oil so always use cold-pressed oils. Combining oils with water won’t cause your skin to be greasy at all or cause you to sweat if you live in tropical regions. And bear this in mind: some oils are heavier and greasier than others so always ask an expert before you mix oils.
