Giddy for 2017 makeup trend

Am excited about 2017!

Makeup industry watchers and trend setters are already giving us a head start on what to expect in 2017 and some of them are:

~ Pink is in! Oh yes! So calling all pink lovers – start collecting every shade of pink makeup imaginable.

~ Gloss is back! So say goodbye to matte lipsticks that dominated 2016 and say welcome back to gloss and high shine.

~ Simple, natural and healthy makeup look is in so it’s time to tone down the contouring and excessive makeup.

– Color pairing is back so you can pair your lip color with your blush and eye makeup without looking too blended.

~ Good news, liquid liners are still in.

There are many more new makeup trends for 2017 so please do share. Here is my take on them:

I kept this look simple, using pink as my signature color for the eyes and lips. If you normally can’t do without contouring, you can still achieve the same face slimming effect by focusing more on highlighting than the shading. Good highlighting makes for a perfect contour so get creative.

For this makeup, I used:

Cover girl concealer

Maybelline dream matte foundation

BellaPierre warming bronzer instead of loose powder

BellaPierre highlighter and illuminizer

Sleek liquid felt tip liner and mascara

Flori Roberts blush

Cover girl lipstick

Nigerian Bridal makeup: the elegant bride

Hi guys!

How you doing? Charming beautiful, I bet! ๐Ÿ˜˜

I had a bridal job for a destination wedding a while back; it was a fun and exciting weekend away.

My bride is an elegant but simple girl who has a flawless natural beauty and one who wanted minimal makeup. What I have learnt over the years is to respect my clients’ wishes and never to impose myself or my ideas on them. I believe that your client must be comfortable with the makeup, just as in fashion, so that they don’t feel pressured to be somebody they aren’t. I have worked with unreluctant or confused clients before but I have always gently nudged them in the right direction without over powering their personalities. I believe that gentle nudging is the most effective way to push a client to go a little out of their comfort zone without diminishing their personalities or self confidence.

Here is how my bride turned out for the traditional Nigerian wedding:

The makeup was simple but elegant just as she is.

I hope that makeup artists would learn to listen to their clients rather than listen only to their own voice.

Cheers!

MOTM: Out of Africa Makeup inspiration

My makeup inspiration for this artistic makeup look was my colorful continent of Africa.

Africa offers inspiration all around so this look was pretty easy to create.

Makeup collage from the Bisquit cognac product launch

Hi guys,

How you doing? Looking and feeling beautiful, I bet. This month has been quiet busy for me; I am currently working on an ambitious project and in the midst of this, I was contracted to makeup four hostesses at the Bisquit cognac product launch which took place more than a week ago in Lagos, Nigeria here. Being a French company, the makeup started simple and natural but as the days went on, I was allowed to add a bit of drama to the eye makeup. I honestly love French makeup because it is natural and how I love the signature red lips. I had a fun time at the product launch so am happy to share the picture collage with you. But you can view individual pictures by visiting the makeup gallery gallery.

Bold & Sultry

20130714-215808.jpg

For this look, I wanted a look that was bold, sensual and sexy. The fun part of this makeup came when I mixed green shimmer eyeshadow with gold shimmer eyeshadow to create this look. I enjoyed creating this look.

I used the following:

Maybelline mousse foundation
Flori Roberts pressed powder
Blush from my collection
17 pearl bronzer

On the eyes…

Shadows from my eyeshadow palette
Indelible gel eye liner (peacock)

20130714-220532.jpg

On the lips…
Sleek lipstick mulberry

Bodacious lips

20130714-214410.jpg

What makes this look pleasantly appealing is the bare face with strong lips. The lips were the statement factor for this look, as such, I kept the face as nude as possible to emphasize the lips.

For this look, I used:

Flori Roberts foundation
Flori Roberts pressed powder
Flori Roberts bronzer
Blush from my collection

On the eyes…

Black Opal twist up cream eye liner in coffee bean

On the lips…

Maybelline eye studio gel eye liner

20130714-214859.jpg

My decision to use the gel eye liner was deliberate. I love over stretching the bounds of my makeup products. I think you should do same.

My family welcomes a new bride

Hi guys,
How y’all doing? It’s been a while … I know… I have been busy learning a new skill – the art of baking. I am never content with mastering one skill but constantly learning new things – my own way of enriching my life. Besides that, I travelled to my native home town in Benue State of Nigeria to attend my dear cousin’s wedding. Nigeria is a very large country so traveling from Lagos to Benue was moving from one extreme to another. If one were to go by road transport, it would take ten hours to make it to Benue. Not easy. But thank God for an airplane!

I had a great time with family – it was a reunion but most importantly, it was fun making my cousin’s very beautiful bride up for the wedding ceremony. I love weddings because I love the way makeup transforms brides into princesses on their special day and how such transformation elevates the spirits of the brides and transcends their disposition, attitude and confidence all through the ceremony. Some brides actually walk on air when the makeup is complete. My cousin’s bride felt this way.

Warning though: the pictures are not too good.

Here is the bride before makeup:

Here she is after makeup:

As for the baking, I am getting there but I am back to blogging again.

Cheers guys!

Glam grey: wow with double lashes

Glamorous makeup, double lashes, makeup by Bronzegoddess nigeria

Glamorous makeup, double lashes, makeup by Bronzegoddess nigeria

shadow colours I have been sampling are grey, ashy tones. I have also been playing with double lashes as well. I love natural lashes, especially Ardell Demi lashes because they give you the natural look that you want. And when I want to create the wow effect without using heavy lashes, I use double lashes per eye lid. ย Here is the Ardell Demi lashes I used:

Ardell lashes, angled lashes

I love this lash for its shape and it is so lightweight, even when doubled, it remains very light.

Other tools used for this makeup include

MAC Studio tech

Flori Roberts concealer

Indelible gel eyeliner in Black Out

HD powder

Soft pink lips

Because the eyes were strong, I opted for soft pink lips. The over all makeup is classy but soft.
