Aloe care for the skin

Aloe Vera is a cactus plant that grows in dry climate so you can understand why Africa has been blessed with this plant. We personally grow aloe Vera at home and it is very easy to plant – in pots, requiring no care at all.

Benefits of aloe Vera to the skin

Dry skin: Aloe Vera soothes and heals dry skin because of its moisture rich content. Aloe Vera is especially good for the skin because it contains anti-oxidants as well as Salicylic acid which helps to treat the skin of impurities and several other skin problems.

Aloe Vera treats the following skin problems:

Sun burn

Acne : its auxins and gibberellin content make it an anti acne treatment as it contains anti inflammatory properties.

Inflammation, blisters and itchiness

Aloe Vera stimulates new cell formation so you can expect that it supports collagen which the skin needs, as we age. As such, it is the perfect anti aging plant as it contains anti oxidant beta carotene, vitamin C & E, which hydrates and firms the skin.

Aloe Vera treats stretch marks

Other health benefits of aloe Vera

Aloe vera relieves ulcer

and improve indigestion.

Aloe Vera as moisturizer and primer

Do I hear you say did I hear you right? Oh yes, you heard me right. Aloe Vera makes fantastic primer and foundation base, especially when combined with corn starch. What makes aloe Vera a fantastic primer is the gel itself.

Aloe Vera gel

As you would expect of gels, this aloe Vera gel is soft, silky and velvety smooth so you can imagine how this must feel on the skin! Oh, so tender soft! Which makes a fantastic base for makeup to sit on. So, here is what I do:

After cleaning my face, I use aloe Vera gel straight from the plant as moisturizer.
Upon drying, I dab on corn flour only on my T-zone which is shiny. Corn flour is very powdery soft, which complements the aloe Vera so well.
Afterwards, I apply makeup.

The result? Your face will remain smooth and moisturized, but free of excessive shine.

And the good thing is that aloe Vera is easy to preserve. I actually refrigerate it in between use. You could freeze it for longer.

I absolutely adore this plant and I think everyone, especially people with dry skin should too.

Cheers,
Ene
